2007 contest winner
Gabrielle Maes got married in June 2008 and moved to Kuala Lumpur
where she was the first non-Asian to win the prestigious Cameronian Award in Malaysia. Before moving there, Gabrielle went to New York City in September 2007 to participate in the New York Musical Theatre Festival's Broadway Newest Sensation . She was one of the only Montreal-based performers to have a featured role in the musical Houdini at the Segal Centre during February and March.

In 2010 and 2011, Stephanie Pitsiladis was the star of the musical “Hairspray” all over Canada, most notably at the Charlottetown Theatre Festival, where she performed opposite George Wendt of T.V.’s “Cheers” fame. previously, she had a leading role in The Naked Voice: la vraie nature du théâtre musical in Montreal's Next Wave Festival of New Musicals. She has, as well, directed two musical productions in Laval, The Magic Touch (which she wrote herself) and Bye Bye Birdie. Besides continuing to audition in New York and Toronto for various shows, she spent three years as the main instructor for a theatre concentration program at Laval Liberty High School.

The winner of the 2009 edition of Le Spotlight, Braulio Elicer, has become one of the most sought-after actors in Montreal.  His performing accomplishments include Shakespeare at the Centaur,  appearances at the Stratford Festival, and long-running T.V. ads for the Government of Canada.

Our 2008 Le Spotlight winner
, Gaël O'Shaughnessy, went on to the starring role of Gina in the musical I See London, I See France (the Underwear Musical). She was absolutely wonderful and enjoyed participating in the first edition of Montreal's Next Wave Festival of New Musicals. In 2009, she had the title role in a production of Betty Byleorski Finds A Home, in Ontario.
She continues to develop her musical theatre skills, in addition to her work as a medical doctor in both Quebec and Ontario.
When Tina Mancini first came to CETM five years ago, she had some training in opera, but little practical experience.  Since then, she has participated in a number of our initiatives, developing her skills in a much broader range of activity.  Her work with CETM's outdoor street show helped her increase her collaborative as well as technical skills, making her a far more well-rounded performer.

By the time Tina won our annual Le Spotlight competition in 2010, she was clearly putting her training into practice.  Her acting skills have grown substantially, and her musical abilities have broadened to include many more styles.

With the support of CETM, Tina was admitted to New York's prestigious Circle in the Square training program.  She also just celebrated her Off-Broadway debut in October 2011 as part of a CETM-sponsored project.
Tina is just one example of the positive effect that CETM has had on the professional development of a growing number of Montreal-based artists.

Patrick Olafson created and directed The Naked Voice: la vraie nature du théâtre musical, one of the shows featured in Montreal's Next Wave Festival of New Musicals.

He presented his one-man show Patrick Olafson chante Michel Legrand at the Place des Arts Studio Theatre in May 2008, and several times again in other venues. Along with three other performers, Patrick formed the pop group “Tocadéo” which released a successful audio CD in 2009 and toured the four corners of  Quebec province, as well as a stop in Romania.

He continues to make other concert and television appearances in the Montreal area.
